The principle objective of this project was to restore the medieval walls of Lincoln Castle to their former glory which has enabled visitors to complete a 360 degree walk around the merlon’s of the walls and take in the panoramic views of Lincolnshire.
MIES Building Services were responsible for all M&E works on the project which included providing wireways under the flagstone walkway for power and CCTV cabling servicing the Castle. MIES also carried out a full refurbishment on the ancillary buildings around the castle walls including Cobb Hall, Observatory Tower, Bath House and both gatehouses.
The Lincoln Castle Revealed project has a combined value of £22 million and opened on 1st April 2015 with the formal relaunch in June 2015 to coincide with the 800 year anniversary of Magna Carta
